SXU hosted a special assembly to honor its football team on winning the 2011 NAIA National Championship on Tuesday, January 17. More than 400 people attended, including Congressman Dan Lipinski, State Senator Ed Maloney, Alderman Matt O'Shea, and State Representatives Kelly Burke and Bill Cunningham.
On Wednesday, January 18, the Cook County Board of Commissioners presented SXU Football Coach Mike Feminis with a proclamation honoring the Cougars' recent NAIA Championship victory.

Congratulations to Cynthia Roder of Portage Park Elementary School, who is December’s Teacher of the Month. In honor of her achievements, Roder received a $1,000 check for school supplies from Saint Xavier University.
