Programs Leading To State of Illinois Certification

The School of Education offers the following programs approved by the Illinois State Board of Education through which graduates are certified in the State of Illinois:

  • Early Childhood Education:  Birth - Grade 3; Initial Early Childhood Certificate *
  • Elementary Education; K-9:  Initial Elementary Certificate *
  • Secondary Education; 6-12:  Initial Secondary Certificate *
  • Music Education; K-12:  Initial Certification
  • Spanish Education; K-12:   Initial Certification
  • Multicategorical Special Education:  LBS I
  • Reading:  K-12
  • Educational Administration and Supervision
  • School Counseling

* Appropriate majors in the secondary education program and areas of concentration in the early childhood and elementary programs are listed in the description and requirements for the respective programs.
