The Office of Teacher Education and Certification serves as a central location through which students gain information. It is the responsibility of the staff to coordinate all teacher education services that students need.

- Identification of and placement in field experience sites
- Housing of field experience documentation
- Registration materials and study guides for the Illinois Certification Testing System Test
- Collection, evaluation and documentation of portfolio submissions
- Application and admission to student teaching
- Applications for enrollment in Practicum
- Student teaching placement decisions
- Academic procedures regarding completion of teacher education programs
- Illinois State Board of Education: certification applications and submissions
- Criminal background investigation submissions
