Register for an Information Session

Early Childhood Education Program

Elementary Education Program

  • Prepares candidates:
    • to teach children from K through grade 9.
    • to pursue an Illinois Type 03 certificate.
  • 120 semester hours must be successfully completed to qualify for a degree.

Secondary Education Program

  • Prepares candidates:
  • Secondary Education candidates major in an academic area within the College of Arts and Sciences and minor in education.
  • 120 semester hours must be successfully completed to qualify for a degree.

The English as a Second Language (ESL) and Bilingual Approval Program

  1. Prepares certified teachers to design and deliver effective instruction for culturally and linguistically diverse students.
  2. Individuals who are granted an ESL and/or Bilingual approval may teach in this capacity only at the grade levels for which their regular certificate is valid.
