Becoming a CFP® Certificant

The demand for sound, professional financial advice is growing. Certified Financial PlannerTM practitioners have met rigorous standards and are at the forefront of the financial planning industry.

Benefits of the Program

  • The 5 course curriculum is a CFP Board-Registered Program. CFP® certification is granted only by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. to those persons who, in addition to completing an educational requirement such as this CFP Board-Registered Program, have met its ethics, experience and examination requirements.
  • Courses are offered on a rotating basis throughout the year.
  • A typical class schedule is one class meeting for 3 hours each evening for 10 weeks.
  • Courses are accepted for Continuing Education (CE) credit, please contact the program director for additional information.
  • Instructors are experienced business professionals with advanced degrees, years of teaching experience and expertise in the course area.
  • Convenient campus location in Orland Park, IL. Just off I-80.

Additional Program Information

  • An undergraduate degree in any field is required in order to start the program.
  • An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance is advantageous.
  • Courses can be taken in any order. No course is a prerequisite for another.

Credit or Non-Credit

The BUSGR course prefix indicates graduate credit. The BUSNC designation indicates non-credit. The material for the graduate and non-credit offerings is identical. 2009-2010 tuition for credit courses is $708 per credit hour or $2,124 per course. Tuition for non-credit is $850 per course.
