Options in Health Administration

Saint Xavier University offers a variety of graduate opportunities in health administration - both certificates and degree programs allow students to choose the right direction for their own careers.

The graduate certificate programs of the Graham School of Management may be taken alone or may be used as part of a graduate degree program. Many students start with a certificate program (four courses) and then decide about whether to proceed with a degree. Below is a brief description of each program offered through the Graham School of Management.

The Master Of Business Administration with concentration in Health Administration is a comprehensive program designed to meet the diverse and changing needs of students and employers. Students complete 8 or 9 courses of an extensive management / administration core and 4 courses in health administration. The required MBA common core represents an integrated curriculum providing both practical applications and a strong foundation in management theory.

MBA/MS In Nursing The MBA/MS in Nursing is a 63-65 credit hour dual degree program offered by the Graham School of Management and the School of Nursing.

The Certificate In Managed Care (CMC) is designed for professionals in or preparing to enter the health care industry. This coordinated sequence of graduate courses considers how the system evolved to its present state, how financial, legal, and governmental mandates are affecting the industry, and how managed care impacts health care and society. The Certificate courses may be applied to Graham School MBA degree.

The Employee Health Benefits Certificate (EHBC) is designed for professionals in or preparing to enter the health benefits field. This coordinated sequence of graduate courses helps benefits professionals understand how organizations design and manage health benefits packages for their employees. The Certificate courses may be applied to Graham School MBA degree.
