History and Political Science Minors
Requirements for Minor Programs
Students should consult with a department faculty member when considering a minor.
International Studies Minor
Students must complete 18 hours including:
- POLSC 102 World Politics
- One comparative politics course
- One international relations course
- One course in international economic studies: (ANTH 245, BUS 300, POLSC 336)
- Two courses from regional/areas studies (consult department)
Public Administration Minor
This minor involves courses from a number of departments in the School of Arts and Sciences; as well as the Graham School of Management. Courses in political science, sociology, communication and economics are required as follows; consult a department advisor. Students must complete 18 hours as follows:
- Nine (9) hours in political science including:
- POLSC 101 United States Government
- POLSC 208 Public Administration
- POLSC 301 Public Policy Analysis
- Three (3) hours in sociology; choose one of the following courses:
- SOC 240 Sociology of Cities and Suburbs
- SOC 306 Social Psychology
- SOC 356 Work and Occupations
- Three (3) hours in communication; choose one of the following courses:
- COMM 235 Organizational Communication I
- COMM 244 Introduction to Public Relations
- COMM 335 Organizational Communication II
- Three (3) hours in economics:
- BUS 201 Principles of Economics - Micro
