Honors Program

Purpose Statement

The Honors program at Saint Xavier University provides an enriched academic experience to talented and highly motivated students. It develops skills and nurtures habits of mind that encourage and enable students independently to pursue knowledge in their chosen fields and ultimately to advance learning. The program offers students stimulating Honors Seminars designed around themes of compelling interest, and provides opportunities for applied internships and group and individual research under the direction of highly qualified faculty. The program is committed to providing social and cultural activities that enrich the academic experience and that create a community of learners among Honors students and faculty. The program advances Saint Xavier University’s mission to cultivate an appreciation of human diversity, and to channel abstract knowledge into avenues of service for the human family.

Students are invited into the Honors Program on the basis of their academic record documented in the materials they submit during the application process: ACT scores, overall GPA and class rank.
