The Xavier Classics at Noon Concert Series was put into place by Artistic Director Dr. Jan Bickel, Professor of Music, and Director of Vocal Studies in the Department of Music at Saint Xavier University, in an effort to reach out to the University population and the Southwest Chicago community with fine classical music performances during a fifty minute lunch hour time slot with a minimal admission donation requested. All concerts are presented in McGuire Hall, once a month at noon, on selected Fridays. The series began receiving support from the Illinois Arts Council in Spring 2005, and continues to enjoy their support.
