Scheduling a CLEP® Appointment

The cost of each exam is $72.00 and is payable only with a credit card (Mastercard/Visa/ Discover/ American Express) plus a $20.00 non-refundable administration fee payable to Saint Xavier University, by way of cash check or money order. To reserve a testing appointment time, please contact Michelle Keller, Coordinator of Testing at (773) 298-3012 or stop by the Warde Academic Center, office A-206. You will be asked to submit the $20 fee upon signing up (this fee will secure your appointment). Test candidates are allowed to change their appointment to another available date, there is a $5.00 fine if the request is made less than 24 hours prior to the originally scheduled appointment. Study Site Information

SXU students can access online CLEP books and practice exams through the Saint Xavier University Library following the steps below:

1. Log on my.sxu.edu
2. Go to "Library" Under Quick links
3. Click on Articles and Databases
4. Scroll down to "Testing and Education Reference Center"
5. Click the Proceed button on the INFOTRAC page
6. Click CLEP Prep
7. Make your selection – (you are allowed to take up to 3 full 90 minute practice exams, per subject – there is no fee to take these practice exams).

CLEP’s website sells the test program’s official master study guide book, as well as individual exam study guides that may be downloaded for a fee.

The guide will give you a bare bones description of the exam and will list the knowledge and skills required, as well as sample test questions. However, to study the specific content of the test it is strongly suggested you get a textbook in the subject area.
