Saint Xavier University accepts selected Excelsior College Exams® to fulfill certain courses required in the RN-BS Nursing program. The exams are approximately three hours in length and are administered at Prometric Testing Centers (formerly Sylvan). The exams are in a computer-based testing format, and the results are made immediately available. Not all Excelsior Exams are accepted at Saint Xavier University. Students should check with their advisor prior to taking an exam.

You may register for an exam online via Excelsior's Web site or by calling 1-888-72EXAMS. (SXU is not an Excelsior Exam testing site).
Students may purchase the official Excelsior College Exams study guide, published by the College Board (see Excelsior Web site). When registering for an exam session, students may also order individual study guides for the tests they are taking.
Fees for each examination vary; please consult the Excelsior Web site or information brochure for individual exam fees.
Candidates receive unofficial test results at the completion of each exam. Official Excelsior Exam transcripts are sent to the Office of Records and Registration, where credit will be posted as applicable. Please refer to RN student exam policies above).
