CHICAGO – Kate Mollohan, a senior third baseman/catcher at Andrew High School in Tinley Park, Ill., has signed a letter of intent to continue both her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar softball program. The Tinley Park native will be a freshman at SXU in the fall of 2009 and will compete for playing time on the field during the 2010 season.

Mollohan is the daughter of Mark and Norine Mollohan of Tinley Park. She is currently coached by Jim Holba at Andrew High School. Mollohan is looking to pursue a degree in business next year at Saint Xavier University.

“Kate is a versatile player, who will help the program in many ways,” said Saint Xavier University head softball coach Myra Minuskin. “Her competitiveness and hard-nosed style of play will make her very successful and we look forward to her joining the Cougar program in the fall of 2009.”
