Assistant Professor of English/Tenure Track

Function: Assistant Professor of English, tenure-track, expertise in Rhetoric and Composition, to begin August, 2010. Preference for candidates with secondary emphases in one or more of the following areas: English Secondary Education, creative writing, professional writing, minority rhetorics, African American studies, or cultural studies. Viable candidates need to demonstrate scholarly potential and a commitment to excellent undergraduate instruction. Responsibilities include introductory courses in composition, upper-division writing and rhetoric courses, and special topics offerings in the candidate’s field.
Qualifications: Ph.D. required at the time of appointment. Viable candidates need to demonstrate scholarly potential and a commitment to excellent undergraduate instruction. Teaching load is 12 hours per semester, but opportunities exist for course releases per academic year.
