Founded in 1846 by the Sisters of Mercy, Saint Xavier University is a private, Catholic, four-year, co-educational institution serving more than 5,600 students. Its 74-acre Chicago Campus is located in a residential neighborhood, while its 35-acre Orland Park Campus is surrounded by natural wetlands. Saint Xavier has more than 36 student organizations, encompassing academic, artistic, social and athletic activities.
