Renaissance Academy
The Renaissance Academy is a collegial association of retired and semi-retired men and women who share learning experiences and intellectual growth in a friendly, relaxed, academic setting, regardless of educational background. Enrollment is open to all who believe in the importance of pursuing the Academy's life-long learning opportunities. Classes are peer-facilitated and include topics like philosophy, history, literature, current events, poetry, and computer technology.
University Affiliation
Classrooms and some resources at both the Chicago and Orland Park campuses are made available to Renaissance members as part of the Saint Xavier University community outreach initiative.

Curriculum
Individual Renaissance Academy members serve as class facilitators. They develop their own programs and choose program materials. Members are encouraged to volunteer their time so that the Academy may offer a broad selection of courses.
No testing or grading is included in the program; however, class participation provides the energy that makes the Academy a viable entity.

Chicago Campus
Class Schedules
At the Chicago campus, there are three eight-week terms which include fall, winter, and spring. Classes meet Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in one-hour sessions. You may enroll in three classes for each of the three terms.
Registration
Membership registration is only in the fall, beginning the last week in August to the middle of September. For exact dates call the Renaissance Office after August 15th, and leave a message; someone will call you with the information. Class registration for the fall, winter, and spring terms is only open to members.
Early enrollment is encouraged because of limited class sizes. The Renaissance Academy at the Chicago Campus is limited to 350 members and registration of the previous year’s membership is given priority until five days after the September Open House.
Fees
Fees for the Chicago Campus are for the whole year. Fees do not cover individual class fees such as the cost for required texts or fees to cover outside speakers or field trips for example.
Charter Member - $90.00 per year
Individual Member - $120.00 per year.
Orland Park Campus
Class Schedules
At the Orland Park campus, a spring and a fall term are scheduled each year. Each term consists of eight weekly sessions which meet on Fridays.
Registration
Registration is separate for each term. Fall registration starts in August and spring registration starts in February. Early enrollment is encouraged because of limited class sizes.
