Named for its founder, Sister Mary Antonine Ludden, R.S.M., the Ludden Speech and Language Clinic at Saint Xavier University has been in existence for over 50 years, serving children and adults with communication disorders. Since its inception in 1959, thousands of clients of all ages and disorders have benefited from services provided by the Ludden Clinic.

Communication

Most of us take ordinary communication acts for granted. For some people, these simple acts are extremely difficult, sometimes impossible. According to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, more than 40 million American children and adults have communication disorders. If you, your child or someone you know is experiencing difficulty in communicating, it is important to seek professional advice as soon as possible. The Ludden Speech and Language Clinic at Saint Xavier University provides identification, prevention and treatment of a variety of communication disorders by trained clinicians in a supportive, caring environment.

All clinical services are supervised by speech-language pathologists who hold a professional license from the State of Illinois and the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology and/or Audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. The Ludden Speech and Language Clinic is part of the training program for Saint Xavier University students who are preparing for careers in communication disorders.
