Regina Garrity is an adjunct professor in the Music Department and instructs a special topics course called “Music of Ireland.” Regina is originally from Ireland, where she received her undergraduate degree in engineering from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Regina earned her master’s degree in arts of teaching from Dominican University, Riverforest, in 2009.
Music has been an intrinsic part of Regina’s life. Throughout her elementary and high school years, Regina learned a number of instruments and performed in countless performance exams and competitions. Regina formerly established her own School of Music where she inspired students of all ages to learn and perform Irish music.
Regina currently performs in the traditional Irish group known as “The Dirty Wellies.” Regina is one of five members in the band and plays the piano accordion. Regina is also a middle school teacher at Worth Junior High. To conclude, Regina is an educator at heart with a lifelong passion and appreciation for music.
