Saint Xavier University has a long history of welcoming students whose college careers begin elsewhere but lead them to Saint Xavier to complete their bachelor's degree. Our scholarship programs reward academic success earned at the college level prior to entering Saint Xavier recognizing the contributions that transfer students bring to the Saint Xavier community.
Students are highly encouraged to file the Free Applications for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to determine the true cost of an SXU education. In addition to the financial aid you may receive by filing the FAFSA, Saint Xavier University offers incoming students several scholarship opportunities.
Saint Xavier offers a wide range of scholarships available to students University-wide and to students who fall into certain parameters like a specific major or academic year. There are a variety of other scholarships are also offered outside of Saint Xavier, which we call outside scholarships, that you may be eligible to receive based on the establishment's requirements. For more information concerning these scholarships and their application details, please visit the scholarship directory.

The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship (PTK) is offered to PTK transfer students. PTK is an honor society for community college students. These scholarships are automatically renewable each year as long as you are enrolled full-time (12 or more credit hours per semester) and remain in good standing at Saint Xavier University, maintaining satisfactory academic progress.
How do you apply?
The scholarship application happens during the review of your application for admission. Along with a submission of your application and transcripts from all colleges attended, please indicate in writing that you are a member of Phi Theta Kappa and send the Office of Admission official proof that you have been accepted as a member of Phi Theta Kappa. If a student is accepted to PTK after having been admitted to Saint Xavier, the student should contact the Admissions Office prior to the start of their first semester's classes at Saint Xavier. Once this membership has been confirmed, the Admission Office will contact the student about the adjustment of any merit award to the PTK merit scholarship for transfer students.
Please note: A student can only qualify for one merit scholarship, either the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship, the Vernon O. Crawley Scholarship, or the Transfer Merit Scholarship program. The student will be awarded the top scholarship for which he/she is eligible; these three awards are not eligible to be awarded simultaneously to the same recipient.
Students may qualify for additional financial aid by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
