Portfolio Development
Options to Earn Credit
Portfolio Development is designed to assist adult students in evaluating learning acquired outside the classroom environment. The class will introduce students to the philosophy and principles of credit for prior learning, as well as guide students through the process of applying this information to their individual learning experiences. Documenting credit for prior learning can be accomplished in a number of ways, such as workshops, seminars, in-service training, military experience and/or community service.
This 1 credit-hour course (FOSEM 110) is structured to give students skills necessary to develop a successful portfolio. The following topics are reviewed:
- developing personal and professional narrative;
- documenting evidence of prior learning;
- writing competency statements.
