What is Social Media Marketing?

Social media marketing is the strategic use of online tools and platforms to turn online communication into interactive and engaging dialogue. Students will develop a complex understanding for guiding the development of online marketing initiative with a buyer-centric view, and how to guide Internet and social media activities within marketing organizations or agencies.

Saint Xavier Students will study evolving online marketing techniques from well-qualified and respected instructors who will give them the opportunity to gain practical experience by working on real-world consulting projects for local businesses.

Internet Marketing

Provides a strategic overview of e-business strategies, electronic marketing strategies and the integration of Internet-based business and marketing communication strategies with traditional methods, along with a hands-on review of the evolving world of social media and consumer-created content.

Social Media

Provides a deep exploration of social media planning as part of an integrated communication strategy as well as hands-on development of a social media marketing plan.

The Online Consumer and Communities

Examines the role of consumers and communities in successful online marketing initiatives, while exploring consumer insights and online behavior that support consumer engagement and social media participation.

About the Instructors

Saint Xavier Students will study evolving online marketing techniques from well-qualified and respected instructors who will give them the opportunity to gain practical experience by working on real-world consulting projects for local businesses.

Deb Rapacz

Is a highly rated marketing professor at Saint Xavier University's Graham School of Management. She has helped leading brands, such as Similac, Ensure, Slimfast, Imodium, Claritin and Tylenol develop successful integrated marketing campaigns. She has helped weave social media strategies and content into plan to actively engage participation and drive business results.

Cheryl Luczak, Ph.D.

Is the founding director of Saint Xavier's Center for Service Excellence and professor of marketing in the Graham School of Management. She has spent more than 15 years in marketing and sales, has won several "Distinguished Research Awards" and her work has appeared in various scholarly outlets.

Candace Calandriello

Holds an MBA in advertising and marketing from Saint Xavier University where she received the U.K. Hwang Award. She is a media director for Starcom Worldwide, and has worked on brands such as Kellogg's, Miller Brewer Company and Sara Lee in developing media strategies offline and online.

Graham School of Management Mission Statement

Accelerated Program Begins in July 2013! 

Fast-paced
The accelerated 15-month program makes it easy to incorporate the eight-week courses into your busy schedule. Classes are scheduled only twice a week, while the cohort format provides the opportunity for professional networking.

Affordable
Students lock in to the package price of $39,780 ($45,900 if foundations are needed) which includes all books and fees. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

Location

Classes are held at the Chicago Bar Association building in the Loop located at 321 S. Plymouth Court. It is easily accessible by public transportation and just a short distance from major expressways with discounted parking available.

Curriculum
The entire program consists of 13 3-credit hour courses, which are completed in less than 15 months. Foundation requirements are built into the program.
