Bishop John R. Gorman Institute for Leadership in Catholic Education
Thank you for your support of the BGI. Registration for both tracks is now open.
The tenth annual Bishop R. Gorman Institute for Leadership in Catholic Education (BGI) will take place on June 25 and 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Saint Xavier University Orland Park campus. Registration and coffee are available at 8:00 a.m.
The 2013 BGI offers both a Teacher Track and an Administrator Track. The Administrators will have their first day dedicated to K-12 School & Campus Security Training presented by ILEAS/ISBE/ITTF. The Director, Ron Ellis, and staff will be primary presenters. The second day will offer topics related to curriculum and instruction, student retention through graduation, and marketing and associated topics.
The Teacher Track will bring back such popular speakers as Dr. Margaret Carroll on Universal Design, Dr. Eileen Quinn Knight on Spirituality, and Dr. Graziano Marcheschi on Storytelling. Dr. Karen Brown of Nazareth Academy will present on literacy and writing.
The full program of speakers will be announced soon. The program is still being developed.
The cost of the two days is $200 with a special price of $500 for three persons from the same school. CPDUs may be earned. The BGI is eligible for most Title IIA funding and some scholarship assistance is available.
