Meet the Staff

Molly Caldera

Molly Caldera

Multimedia Consultant

Molly is a returning member of the CIDAT team. Molly has undergraduate training in English literature, with minors in writing and communications. In the midst of completing her graduate degree in media communications from Webster University, Molly hopes to engage students, faculty and staff in conversations on media literacy on an academic level.  In addition to her work at Saint Xavier, Molly works on freelance projects, specifically technical writing for corporate infrastructure, governance, risk and compliance.

Ryan Cleary

Ryan Cleary

Media Support Manager

Ryan first joined Saint Xavier University as a transfer student in 2006, earning his B.A. in organizational communications in 2008.  He then returned to Saint Xavier in 2010, where he was hired as an administrative and technology assistant in the Office of the President.  For the next four years, Ryan worked closely with the President's Cabinet and Board of Trustees managing various projects centered on technology and innovation. During that time, Ryan also chaired Saint Xavier's Commencement committees and events. Ryan joined the Media Services branch of CIDAT in the summer of 2014 and is currently pursuing his M.B.A. in project management.

Beth DeCarlo

Administrative Coordinator 

Beth joined the CIDAT team in 2014, after working for Colorado Technical University. Beth is currently working on her bachelor's degree business at Saint Xavier University. She is eager to learn about the technology needs in higher education. Beth is available to any faculty with questions regarding course evaluations. 

Thomas Greene

Thomas Greene

Thomas joined Saint Xavier University as a multimedia specialist in 2014. He received his Bachelor of Arts in mass communication from SXU in 2012. As a student, he worked for the Media Services Department and assisted in multimedia production for various University events. Thomas continues to work on various production projects outside of SXU, including local concert recordings, music promotion and scriptwriting.

Production Services

Michael joined Saint Xavier University as a staff member in 2008. He completed his studies in mass communication and art at SXU, where he was honored with the Outstanding Art and Design Student award. Prior to joining SXU, Michael worked on multimedia productions while freelancing for various production companies. In conjunction with working at Saint Xavier University, Michael continues to work as a commercial photographer and studio artist.

Yue Ma

Yue Ma

Senior Instructional Designer

Yue consults with Saint Xavier University faculty on uses of instructional technologies and provides support for MyCourses and MyCommunity. Influenced by Dewey’s "Learning by Doing," Yue firmly believes that the best way to adopt instructional technology is through practice. So she is eager to meet with SXU faculty to discuss different possibilities for integrating emerging technologies into the classroom (face-to face as well as online) to promote learning.

Joe Verble

Joe Verble

Technology Integration Specialist

Joe first came to Saint Xavier University as a transfer student in 2004, getting his B.A. in mass communication in 2006 and master's degree in applied computer science in 2014. As a student, he was awarded the Technician Fellowship while working for Media Services. In 2009, he was hired as the evening operations manager for Media Services. In October 2012, he became the technical support manager for Media Services, and in July 2014, he shifted to CIDAT to become the technology integration specialist. His role is to guide instructors with the learning management system Canvas, and help them utilize its tools and features to their maximum potential to achieve the optimal learning experience for their students. He believes that support and service are the foundation of a good business and improving the quality of education through the use of cutting edge technology.

Assistant Provost for Technology and Instructional Innovation

Director, Center for Instructional Design and Academic Technology 

Chris joined Saint Xavier University in 2010 as the director for the Center for Instructional Design and Academic Technology. His work within CIDAT focuses on developing a comprehensive approach to technology adoption and instructional development, as well as identifying new ways to foster and spread innovative teaching among Saint Xavier faculty. He believes that faculty is not a homogeneous group and therefore growth in technology adoption must be fostered one-on-one.
