Academic Skills Development and Workshops
The Learning Center staff frequently works with students in one-on-one or small group sessions on developing academic skills necessary for success in college. If you are a student who struggles with organization, note-taking, time management, or test taking and you would like to meet with a Learning Center staff member to discuss developing these skills, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your request and we'd be happy to set up a consultation.
The Learning Center also offers on-demand academic skills workshops, typically an hour in length. Student groups, faculty or staff may request a presentation on almost any topic, which may be tailored for an entire class or a small group (four or more individuals).
Sample workshop topics include:
- Improving College Study Skills
- Taking Great Notes
- Managing Your Time
- Learning Styles
- Reading Textbooks Strategically
- Understanding APA/MLA/Chicago Style
- Understanding and Managing Stress
- Building Your Public Speaking Skills
- Saving Your Semester!
- Test Taking Tips
Email email@example.com for information or to request an on-demand workshop for your group.
If you are a faculty member who would like to request that a representative visit one or more of your classes to speak about the Learning Center and the services we offer, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 773-298-5148.
