Services
The LCDS office offers
- academic counseling and monitoring for students on an individual basis and, when appropriate, making referrals to related University departments
- group sessions for students experiencing similar academic concerns
- the delivery of services for students with disabilities that impact academic performance, including responding to requests for reasonable and appropriate accommodations, such as coordinating note-takers and offering a reduced-distraction testing environment
- educational workshops designed to facilitate the mastery of study strategies and learning skills and to improve overall academic performance
- assistance and support for the supplemental programs offered by varying departments
- collaboration with existing University components, including but not limited to: Admissions, Athletics, First-Year Programs and Residence Life, to promote academic excellence and retention
