Application Requirements

Priority Deadline for Fall 2008 FNP Applicants is May 1

  1. A completed application form. 
  2. Graduation from an NLNAC or ANCC accredited baccalaureate-nursing program with a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or completion of undergraduate requirements within the non-nursing baccalaureate Special Entry Option. 
  3. Evidence of a current registered nursing license.
  4. Official transcript(s) sent directly from the Registrar of the accredited baccalaureate degree-granting college/university and all graduate level coursework.
  5. Submission of acceptable official scores on the Graduate Record Exam. GRE is waived with a grade point average of 3.0 or better.
  6. Two completed recommendation forms from nursing professionals, i.e. recent employers, professors, etc. One must be provided by a professional nurse who has observed the applicant’s clinical performance.
  7. Applicants may be asked to complete an interview with faculty, including a writing sample.

The decision regarding admission is made by the Graduate Admission Recognition and Progression Committee on the basis of the criteria outlined above as well as the quality of previous course work and demonstrated potential for a productive career in advanced nursing practice.
