Master of Science Degree in Nursing

As a vital force in the health care profession, nurses today are assuming greater reponsibilities and more diverse roles in patient care. The graduate nursing program at Saint Xavier University prepares nurses to assume leadership and advanced practice roles in this challenging and rapidly changing health care environment.

The Saint Xavier University School of Nursing offers a National League for Nursing (NLN) accredited nursing program leading to a Master of Science degree. Accreditation is granted by the NLNAC, the accrediting body of the NLN, and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN).

The Master of Science Degree in Nursing requires completion of a minimum of 45 semester hours of credit, depending on the curriculum option selected by the student. Coursework is scheduled primarily in the late afternoon and evening to serve the needs of working adults. Students may select part-time or full-time study.

The School of Nursing graduate curriculum offers three specialty tracks: Leadership in Nursing and Community Health, Family Nurse Practitioner, and Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Health or Mental Health Nursing. Additionally, a joint MS/MBA program is offered by the School of Nursing and the Graham School of Management.
