Art and Design Scholarships
The Department of Art and Design at Saint Xavier University has a tradition of developing students that are visually literate, culturally aware and interested in a life of creative collaboration. Students majoring or minoring in art and design are an important part of the SXU community. Their ability to bring an understanding of visual language and creative problem solving to their other classes, clubs and interactions enhance the University in a wide variety of ways.
We are interested in retaining and rewarding students who want to create, communicate and collaborate while studying the underlying history, theory and craft of the art and design disciplines.

Thanks to the generosity of Sister Joy Clough, R.S.M. '65, she established an endowed scholarship to honor the memory of her father. The scholarship will assist a Saint Xavier University student in the Art and Design department based on the following criteria: the student must be a declared art and design major on the graphic design track, must maintain a 2.5 overall GPA, demonstrate financial need, and must submit a portfolio along with a letter on why he/she chose to major in graphic design and what he/she intends to do with the degree. This scholarship is available to be renewed once with the submission of a new application.
This scholarship honors Sister Mary Paul Keefe, RSM, former director of the Art Department at Saint Xavier University for more than 40 years. This scholarship will provide financial assistance to students enrolled in the Art Department.
Through generous contributions from the Max Goldenberg Foundation to establish the Max Goldenberg Scholarship for Art and Design. The Art and Design Department will begin selecting a Goldenberg Scholar in the spring semester. The current fund will regularly allow for a scholarship of approximately $1,000 each year as a lasting memorial to Max Goldenberg.
Criteria for award based on quality of work in a digital portfolio of 10 works and a letter of intent and need from the student.
