How do I participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program?

- The VA will advise you if your service meets the requirements for the Yellow Ribbon Program.
- Bring your Certificate of Eligibility to Saint Xavier University and ask to certify your benefits with the VA.
The example below shows how eligibility is determined for students attending 15 credit hours during an academic year. The amount for the Post-9/11 GI Bill is based on the highest amount of in-state tuition and fees charged for a full-time, undergraduate student at a public, four year institution in Illinois. The rate for 2008-2009 is $550.08 per credit hour. The rate for 2009-2010 will be determined on August 1. The tuition and fees are paid directly to Saint Xavier University.
| Tuition and Fees | $24,340 |
| Estimated Post 9/11 GI Bill funding | $16,742 |
| Estimated Yellow Ribbon funding | $3,799 |
| Estimated SXU Yellow Ribbon Scholarship | $3,799 |
In addition, the Veterans Administration will provide a monthly allowance for housing and up to $1,000 per academic year for books.
