WXAV Wins IBA Silver Dome Award for Veterans Matter Series: Saint Xavier University's student-run radio station WXAV 88.3FM recently took home a second place honor at the 2013 Professional Silver Dome Awards for its critically acclaimed series "Veteran Matters."

Veteran Matters is a 10-episode series examining the firsthand experiences of American veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. Each episode contains the raw and personal accounts about the veterans' time in the service, life after war, religious awakenings and interactions with locals. Interviewees range from Joan, a 92-year-old military nurse who served during World War II; to Buck, a helicopter pilot in Vietnam; and to Andy, who served in Korea, Germany and Iraq. Since the series concluded in September 2012, it has been picked up by public radio and college radio stations across the country.
