S.T.A.T. (Service Through Action Team) is proud to once again support Misericordia Heart of Mercy during their annual "Candy Days" fundraising event on Friday, April 25, 2014.

SXU alumni, students and staff are all invited to volunteer at the intersection at 95th and Cicero, Oak Lawn, Ill., to collect donations for this worthy cause. Volunteers can register for hour-long slots beginning at 7 a.m., lasting until 5 p.m.

Last year, members of the SXU community came together to raise more than $2,300 from motorists and pedestrians.

All funds will be donated to support the exceptional residents of Misericordia.

Misericordia currently supports 600 children and adults with mild to profound developmental disabilities from all racial, religious and socio-economic backgrounds. Their programs include residential placement and day-to-day support, employment opportunities, physical and speech therapy, social and recreational outings, health and fitness activities and opportunities for spiritual growth.

We welcome your help! Online registration available!

All volunteers will be welcome to a complimentary celebratory reception immediately following the day's activities. During the reception, guests will be entered in a raffle to receive special prizes!

Contact the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations for additional information and to register to volunteer at 773-298-3316 or alumni@sxu.edu.

Please Note: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to participate. This is a Misericordia event. All participants are volunteering their personal time and do so at their own risk.

This worthy cause may consist of some hazards involving the solicitation of donations from drivers stopped at a busy intersection.
