- Committee Web site
- Barbara Costello announced that the AODP steering committee is active on the university’s committee Web site. Stacy Dean will be the contact person for putting new information on the site. Committee members are encouraged to send related items to be posted.
- AOD Web site
- Barbara Costello and Brian Kelley are working to put more information on the site while making it less text-heavy.
- Committee decided on the following sites on which to be a featured link:
- Admissions – Costello continuing to follow up on this
- Athletics – Costello will follow up with Derek Begich on the status of this
- Counseling and Career Services – completed

- April Update
- Brian Kelley distributed a list of the events scheduled and announced that the poster is currently being printed.
- Julie Deisinger will be sending out a letter on the faculty listserv, encouraging faculty to have their students attend the month’s events.
- Chris Sosnowski updated the committee on the progress of the Thursday Night Alternatives.
- General review of the marketing efforts included Saint Xavier Today, Xaverite ad, sidewalk chalk and bulletin boards throughout the campus.
- CORE Survey
- Committee agreed to work towards a Spring 2006 implementation to all students, pending verification of validity when retesting at a 3-year interval. John Pelrine volunteered to find out if retesting would be valid.
- Barbara Costello volunteered to contact Kathleen Carlson to utilize the university resources in implementation of the survey.
- Monica Ryan informed the committee of the ACHA assessment that covers a variety of wellness topics including substance abuse. Committee agreed that it would be a valuable resource that could be used to supplement the CORE.
- Other Topics
- Sarah Hein and Brian Kelley updated the committee about the Collegiate Substance Abuse conference that they attended and shared information about intervention techniques being used at other universities. Committee members are encouraged to suggest future conference topics to IHEC.
- Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 19th in the Haddad Conference Room, Byrne Memorial Library.
