  • Additional questions (CORE Survey)
    • Committee discussed and agreed upon the following questions for definite inclusion in the CORE survey
      • Does the AODP programs or SXU policies deter your use of alcohol or other drugs?
      • Are you an athlete?
    • Committee agreed to include the following questions for provisional inclusion in the CORE survey
      • Have you participated in any AODP programs?
      • Has your life been negatively affected by someone else’s substance abuse?
    • Committee members agreed to continue considering additional questions
  • Date for administering the Short Form
    • Administration is planned to begin the week of January 30, 2006

  • Memberships (Staff/Student)
    • Recruitment of biology, nursing and psychology student members was discussed.  Monica and Julie will be contacting the Student Nursing Association and Psychology department to follow up.
    • Committee discussed recruiting staff/faculty members from SSP and Student activities
  • Brochure Marketing Materials
    • Committee reviewed the proof.  Final brochures are expected in the next couple of weeks.  Brian will continue to oversee this project
  • Alcohol Awareness Week
    • Planned for the week of October 17, 2005
    • Julie and Monica will be contacting psychology and nursing students to recruit participants to assist in planning and implementation of events.
    • Committee will also be represented at the Health Center’s opening celebration on October 11th.
  • Web site
    • Brian and Teryn presented an outline of the proposed new AODP Web site
    • Recommended additions included sections on:
      • Crystal Meth
      • ACHA.org
      • Legal consequences of fake ID use, DUI and DWI
      • Signs of healthy alcohol consumption
  • Audio conference
    • Information regarding the upcoming Social Norms audio conference was shared, invitation and details will be e-mailed to committee members and other SXU representatives.
  • Other Topics
    • Committee discussion about student alcohol consumption off campus.  Committee agreed to invite CPD representative to a future meeting in order to discuss programming options and possible collaborative efforts.  Brian will be following up on this.
