The Third Annual Innovation in Assessment Awards

The University Assessment Committee is pleased to announce the availability of funds for 2007-2008 to support faculty assessment activities focused on student learning.

This year we have approximately $13,000 available with an estimated size of annual awards of $500-$2,000. Presentation of progress at a round-table/poster session in the spring semester and a brief year-end report for each grant project is required.

Projects may be for up to 24 months with the possibility of increased funding in Year Two pending submission of a report and proposal for project continuation and participation in the end of the year program.

This year we are especially interested in the following areas:

  • Assessment of first year learning in General Education Courses
  • Assessment of learning in Graduate Level courses
  • Assessment of competency in the area of quantitative skills
  • Web-folios as a method of student assessment

Deadline for proposal submission : October 30th
Note:  Applications must be submitted electronically to the University Assessment Committee. A template for the application and criteria rubric may be found on the Assessment Committee website. Save your document using the following format: Last name_assessment awards. Send it as an attachment to an email addressed to gruening@sxu.edu. The submission deadline is October 30, 2007.
