Lisa Ebel - Head Coach

Ebel begins her second season as the coach of the Saint Xavier University women's cross country team and the women's track team. Under her leadership, the Cougars finished second in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) and fourth in the region. Ebel also had one of her runners qualify for the 2006 NAIA National Cross Country Championships. She graduated magna cum laude from Saint Xavier University in 2001 with a degree in elementary education and a minor in mathematics. She was also a two-year runner on the SXU women's cross country team during the 1998 and 1999 season.

Ebel has a wide variety of running experience at a number of different levels, including head coach of the Grisson Middle School conference championship team, captain of Hinsdale Central High School's cross country team, and a qualifier of the Boston Marathon.

The Orland Park native was a seventh-and eight-grade mathematics teacher at the I.E. Magnet School in Joliet, Ill., prior to joining the Saint Xavier University coach staff. She resides in Orland Park with her husband, Keith, and their three children: Ken, Theresa, and Nick.
