"John Callaway's State of the Union," lecture and conversation with John Callaway, founding host of WTTW's "Chicago Tonight," took place on November 11, 2008, in the Butler Reception Room of the Warde Academic Center, 3700 W. 103rd Street.
Just days after the election of President Barack Obama, newsman and commentator John Callaway offered analysis and historical perspective on the issues -- local, national and international -- facing the new administration.

"Between the Lines: An Intimate History of Poetry Magazine and The Revolutions in Modern Verse by Women," a lecture and conversation with Joseph Parisi, took place on April 7, 2008.
Joseph Parisi, Ph.D., was editor-in-chief of Poetry magazine from 1983 to 2003, the longest tenure after that of founder Harriet Monroe. His widely praised anthology with commentary, 100 Essential Modern Poems (2005), is now in its third printing. His newest collection, 100 Essential Modern Poems by Women,edited with Kathleen Welton, has just been released by Ivan R. Dee, Publisher.
Mr. Parisi's appearance at Saint Xavier was partially funded by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
