Goals of the Center of Religion and Public Discourse
The Center for Religion and Public Discourse at Saint Xavier University strives:
- To create an hospitable, intellectual “space” where timely, diverse, and sometimes controversial issues related to religion, ethics, and values can be raised and publicly discussed with candor and civility;
- To enhance the Catholic identity of Saint Xavier University;
- To make Saint Xavier University a highly visible and well-respected venue for the articulation of carefully reasoned religious and ethical perspectives and their inclusion in daily and scholarly discourse; and
- To promote the common good of the University and its surrounding communities in the context of local, national, and global concerns.
