Substance Abuse Prevention and Education at SXU

Alcohol and drug abuse are major health issues on college campuses throughout the country. Saint Xavier University has concern for the well-being of our students and has addressed these issues with education and prevention.

The Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Prevention Program was formed in 2001 for the purposes of educating and preventing substance abuse within the Saint Xavier University community.  In October 2003, the Vice Presidents for Student Affairs and Academic Affairs commissioned a University-wide Steering Committee.

• Provide direction and oversight for the program
• Recommend policy for the AOD
• Ensure that effective and comprehensive education and prevention programs are offered to the SXU community, with a particular emphasis on students.
