- Alumni/Student Network
Participating alumni and students will be entered into the Alumni Mentoring Program database. The Program Coordinator will monitor this network and match students and mentors accordingly.
- Student/Alumni Match
You will be matched with your mentor/student based on intended major or career fields, as well as campus activities and interests and other information shared on your Alumni Mentoring Program application.
- Contact from Counseling and Career Services
When you have been matched with a mentor/student, you will receive an e-mail message and/or letter from Counseling and Career Services with information regarding additional procedures and guidelines.
- Student Responsibility
Students will be required to meet with the Program Coordinator prior to meeting with their mentor. It is the student’s responsibility to contact their alumni mentor within two weeks of reviewing program guidelines in Counseling and Career Services. All scheduling should respect the time of both students and mentors.
- Questions for Discussion
Students will be provided with a list of discussion questions to explore with their mentor. Students will also have some of their own questions regarding their mentor’s experience at Saint Xavier University as well as life after graduation.
- Scheduling a meeting
Initial conversations between mentors and students may take place via telephone or e-mail. You may maintain your mentor/student relationship via telephone, e-mail or one-on-one meetings in the weeks and months following initial contact.

Students must meet the following criteria:
- You must be enrolled at least half-time in a degree seeking program.

Alumni Mentoring Program Coordinator's Role

The Program Coordinator will recruit both students and alumni to participate in the program and match them based on intended major or career field, as well as campus activities and interests and other information shared on the Alumni Mentoring Program application forms.
Students will be required to attend a brief meeting with the Program Coordinator to review program guidelines and procedures before meeting with their mentor.
