Scholar Recognition

Scholarship Recognition Award

The goal of the Scholar Recognition Awards is to acknowledge faculty who have distinguished themselves in the past year by their scholarly accomplishments. The faculty on the Committee for Educational Practice coordinates the nomination and selection process. A committee of faculty from each of the four schools reviews the submissions and recommends individuals to be recognized. This committee is composed of past recipients of the award.

The following criteria, which are grounded in the belief that there are a wide variety of types of scholarship, are used in the selection process:

  • Is the scholarship notable - that is, beyond the basic scholarship that is part of the normal workload?
  • Is there documentation of the scholarship?
  • Is the scholarship current? (Was the work done principally in the last 18 months)?
  • Did the nomination meet the application deadline?
