Chemistry Major

The chemistry major, in the context of a liberal arts education, prepares students to be lifelong learners and educated citizens. A major or minor in chemistry prepares students for roles as professional scientists.

Chemistry

The B.S. degree in chemistry prepares students for roles as professional scientists. Students acquire an understanding of scientific concepts and problem solving techniques, and the ability to integrate and apply these skills in a laboratory setting. Two distinct tracks are designed to meet different interests and professional goals. The student and his/her advisor plan the program that will best meet the professional goals of the student.

Typical courses of study showing the usual sequence of required major courses, required core courses, and electives, are shown for four-year degree completion for each chemistry major track.
