The B.S. degree in Natural Science is designed for students seeking a broad exposure to biological, chemical and physical sciences. Course selection to meet specific educational goals is made in consultation with students’ academic advisors. The requirements for natural science majors allow optimal flexibility in the selection of science courses.
The following courses are required for a B.S. degree in Natural Science:
CHEM 111-112 General Chemistry I & II
BIOL 111-112 General Biology I & II
PHYS 201 or 211 General or University Physics I
MATH 201 or Calculus with Analytic Geometry I
MATH 112 & 113 College Algebra & Trigonometry
CHEM 356 Intro to Senior Seminar
CHEM 357 Senior Seminar
In addition to the above, 24 semester hours in Chemistry, Biology and/or Physics at the 200 level or above are required. At least seven of these 24 semester hours must be at the 300 level.
The student and advisor select a program of science studies, which meets the above minimum requirements and satisfies student's educational objectives.
Because of the highly individual nature of this major, it is not possible to show a typical course of study for the four-year degree completion of the natural science major track.
