School for Continuing and Professional Studies Advisory Council

Mission, Purpose, and Guiding Principles

The purpose of the Advisory Council for the Saint Xavier University School for Continuing and Professional Studies is to assist the President and the Dean in advancing the School’s recognition, fundraising, and programs consistent with the University’s mission and its strategic plan by providing opportunities for adults who are establishing new careers, completing a degree or enriching personal/professional development skills.
 
The Advisory Council shall be comprised of leaders in corporate, government and non-profit organizations, as well as alumni and friends of the University.  Working in conjunction with the President and the Dean, Advisory Council members shall:

  • Serve as ambassadors of the University and the School to the community;
  • Advocate on behalf of the University and the School for Continuing and Professional Studies; and,
  • Provide consultation and recommendations to the School for Continuing and Professional Studies and Saint Xavier University.  The group’s role shall be advisory in nature in order to provide advice, suggestions, and new ideas to the President and the Dean.

Meetings

Meetings shall be held approximately twice a year at the call of the Chair.

Membership and Staffing

The Advisory Council shall initially consist of 15 - 20 people.  Staff support for the Council will come from the School for Continuing & Professional Studies.

Terms of Service

Members shall be invited to serve for overlapping terms of up to 3 years.
