Item # 1 September Cabinet Discussion
The executive meeting of the President’s Cabinet and faculty leadership met Thursday September 20, 2007 in the Butler Reception Room. Representatives of FAC Charles Shanabruch and Kathleen Waller joined faculty senate members Sheila Wright, Donald Fricker and Karen Czarnik for a discussion that included the budget, graduate programs, enrollment, and related policies. The president expressed interest in more venues to create dialogue with the faculty.
Item # 2 School/Departmental Visits
A plan to increase faculty involvement in the senate by having liaisons to committees to coordinate with Senate, as well as having senate liaisons to schools and departments as requested was discussed.

David Bell and Graham Peck requested senate time to propose a New Faculty Reception program.
The library (David Kohut and Mark Vargas) asked to present on document codes to handle Senate papers.
Item # 4 November Senate Meeting Agenda
The meeting will be devoted entirely to HLC. Curriculum proposals will be moved to November 20 and December 4. As many as 12 curriculum proposals will be reviewed by Faculty Senate from the College of Arts and Sciences. The next executive committee meeting on November 20 will reserve time for the faculty senate to meet first to review curriculum proposals
Item #5 Faculty Study Day Agenda
Provost Hart said he would send out an announcement formally cancelling classes on faculty study day for day and evening in an email. The date is clearly marked in the calendar but has always caused some confusion.
Item #6 Announcements/New Business
Mercy and Heritage committee expressed an interest in continued work with the Faculty senate.
The November 30 general faculty meeting has a number of important agenda items. Faculty Quorum rules were discussed for the upcoming meeting. Senate structure and membership will be updated in Faculty Bylaws. FAC might wish to give an update at the Nov. 30 faculty meeting.
