Professor Kresse began his professional career as a CPA in the Audit Division of the firm of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte & Touche). He has also worked in the Tax Division of Arthur Andersen. After completing law school, Professor Kresse was employed as the Law Clerk to Federal Judge Abraham Lincoln Marovitz of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and worked as an attorney in the commercial litigation departments of the law firms of Hinshaw & Culbertson and Ross & Hardies. Professor Kresse has also been the President of an information technology company, and he has headed his own law and accounting practice. Professor Kresse has been a member of the faculty of the Graham School of Management since 1992.
Professor Kresse has published articles on Federal Civil Procedure and on the history of the Federal Judiciary in Chicago. He has most recently conducted presentations on the future of the CPA profession.
Professor Kresse has served as a board member and President of the Saint John Fisher School Board. He has also served on the Parish Council at Saint John Fisher Church, and has been involved in various parish committees and activities. He has also worked with the Circuit Court of Cook County as an arbitrator in its Court-Annexed Arbitration Program, and with the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners as an Elections Attorney. Additionally, Professor Kresse is involved with the various activities of the B.P.O. Elks and the Knights of Columbus. Professor Kresse has also served as moderator of the Saint Xavier University Business Students Association.
