The need for financial fraud examiners is rapidly growing, largely due to new federal laws requiring auditors to take additional steps to identify fraud as well as new accounting standards regulated by the American Institute of CPAs since the Enron scandal erupted.
Among other initiatives, the AICPA has teamed with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners to encourage colleges and universities to develop financial fraud examination programs.
The certificate in Financial Fraud Examination and Management is designed to assist students in meeting the educational and testing requirements of the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification.
The courses can be taken as a stand-alone certificate. They can also be applied to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) or the Master of Science (M.S.) in Finance.
Individuals who successfully complete the Certificate program and apply for a Graham School of Management graduate degree will have a streamlined application process. No admission test will be required.
