New Core Requirements In General Education: 57 semester hours
Writing - 6 semester hours
- English 101, Critical Thinking and Writing
- English 102, Research and Writing
Speech - 3 semester hours
- Speech 101, Speech Fundamentals
Philosophy - 6 semester hours
Philosophy 150, Philosophical Analysis and one additional Philosophy Department course beyond Philosophy 150.
Religious Studies - 6 semester hours
Two courses from the Religious Studies Department.
Literature/Fine Arts - 6 semester hours
Two literature and/or fine arts courses selected from the designated listings in Art, Music, Humanities, English, Foreign Language and Speech.
History - 6 semester hours
Two courses from the History Department.
Social Science - 9 semester hours
Three courses from the departments of Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Political Science, Economics and Geography. No more than six hours may be selected from any one discipline.
Mathematics - 3 semester hours
One mathematics course from the Mathematics Department.
Natural Science - 6 semester hours
