Honors Program

Program Overview

The Honors Program at Saint Xavier University offers an enriched academic experience to talented and highly motivated students. The program nurtures skills and habits of mind that will enable students to become independent thinkers and leaders in their chosen fields.

Honors students at Saint Xavier are highly motivated young men and women with a consistent record of academic achievement. They seek membership in a community of learners who share their curiosity and enthusiasm for knowledge and opportunities.

Qualifications

Students are invited into the Honors Program on the basis of their academic record documented in the materials they submit during the application process: ACT scores, overall GPA and class rank. Other factors documenting high levels of motivation, achievement and love of learning are also considered.

Benefits

The program prepares students for the challenges of leadership in their chosen fields and provides:

  • opportunities to work closely with faculty on student-designed projects;
  • an accelerated core program that allows more time for individualized study;
  • personalized registration to guarantee integration of Honors coursework with requirements of their major; and
  • opportunities for study abroad and challenging internships.

Honors students may pursue any major offered by the University.
