Wireless Access at SXU for Laptop Computers

In order to connect to the Internet using wireless technology, you will need to purchase a wireless adapter that is compatible with the "802.11b wireless Ethernet protocol". These adaptors can be purchased from the University Bookstore. Pacelli and Regina require a wireless connection.

If you use a laptop computer, all you need to connect to Saint Xavier's wireless network is a PCMCIA wireless network adapter card that plugs directly into the laptop's PCMCIA port. Alternatively, you may choose a USB wireless Ethernet adaptor if your computer has USB ports. There are a number of laptop computers in the market with 802.11b wireless Ethernet built into the system

Wireless Network for Laptop Computers

  1. Netgear MA101 wireless USB adapter 802.11b (This can be used on both laptop and desktop computers).
  2. Netgear MA401 wireless PCCARD 802.11B is used for a laptop.

Wired Access at SXU for Laptop Computers

If you did not purchase your computer with a network card, then you can buy one at the Bookstore.

Netgear FA411 network card for laptop computers is available at the Bookstore.
