Lab and Equipment Reservations

Computer Labs may be reserved by instructors for classroom use. Advance reservations should be made one week in advance using the events calendar. Equipment Reservations are handled by Media Services at (773) 298-3412.

E-mail Accounts

The university's web-based e-mail software for students is called IMail. E-mail accounts are generated automatically for newly registered students with initial passwords sent by U.S. Mail. Students retain the same e-mail account and address throughout their academic career.

University employee e-mail is handled by Microsoft Exchange. Any university employee may obtain an e-mail address by filling out an application form which is available from Information Services. You may also download the PDF version of the form. Typically the account is available the next business day and is returned via campus mail. E-mail accounts for faculty and staff remain valid as long as the individual remains with the institution.

Discussion Lists

Faculty and staff members who wish to set up e-mail discussion lists through IMail should contact Bill Rogers, rogers@sxu.edu, Ext. 3295. IMail's list management capability automates the management of Internet e-mail discussion lists using a web interface. List participants may subscribe and unsubscribe themselves to the discussion list with no manual intervention required by the list owner.
