Intramural Policies

In order to run a respectful and enjoyable Intramural Program at Saint Xavier University, the following policies will be enforced at all Intramural events.

Eligibility

Current students, faculty and staff, and Shannon Center members with a valid Saint Xavier University I.D. card are eligible to participate in the Intramural program.

SXU athletes who wish to participate in Intramurals may do so with the permission of their coach.  Athletes participating in Intramurals that are the same sport that they play for Saint Xavier will be limited to 2 members per Intramural team unless otherwise noted in game rules.  This rule will be enforced in order to give fair opportunity of play for all participants.  

Sportsmanship

The Intramural program at Saint Xavier University encourages sportsmanship from all participants in order to provide a safe, fair, and enjoyable environment during all intramural events. Participating in intramurals is a privilege for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and Shannon Center members at Saint Xavier University. All participants are expected to behave in a courteous manner toward teammates, opponents, fans, officials, and staff members. Those individuals who do not conduct themselves in a proper manner will not be allowed to participate in the Intramural program.

Registration

In order to plan accordingly for all intramural events, it is requested that all participants register for Intramurals online or at the Shannon Center prior to the Intramural event. In order to participate in leagues, you must be registered by the registration date listed on the Calendar of Events. All registered participants will be required to show a student I.D. or Shannon Center I.D. in order to participate in the event.

Team Names

Team participants will be allowed to choose a team name for various events and leagues. All team names must be in good taste or they will be changed by the Intramural staff. Teams will be mentioned on the Intramural website for wins and losses in league and event play.

Proper Apparel

Participants are expected to wear appropriate attire to all Intramural events. Jewelry must be removed before athletic events to prevent injury. Appropriate shoes and shirts must be worn at all times.
